Expectation is not the same as suitability

Dogs can be abandoned when people underestimate costs, exercise, behaviour, grooming or daily attention. This affects pedigree breeds, mixed breeds and Indian Indie dogs alike. It is not fair to blame all breed owners or assume every dog shown in an awareness image was rescued.

A dog’s needs depend on the individual as well as breed tendencies. Talk to a veterinarian and a qualified behaviour professional before choosing an animal, particularly when housing, climate or family schedules may limit suitable care.

Climate and daily life matter

Heavy-coated dogs require particular attention to heat exposure and appropriate living conditions. All dogs need safe access to water, shade and suitable exercise; veterinary guidance should determine precautions. Avoid strenuous activity in dangerous heat and seek urgent veterinary help for signs of serious heat illness.

Labradors also need appropriate nutrition, exercise, training and clinical care. A friendly reputation does not eliminate individual behavioural needs. Apartment size alone cannot answer whether a household can meet an animal’s needs.

When circumstances change

Ask for help early if costs, behaviour or housing are becoming difficult. Seek veterinary assessment for sudden behavioural changes and explore responsible support or rehoming with qualified organisations. Do not abandon an animal on a road or assume a foundation can immediately take it in.

Responsible rehoming requires honest health and behaviour information, careful matching and a safe handover. Avoid transferring dogs to unknown people without checks or promoting adoption as a quick transaction.

Campaign scenes are not rescue claims

The Husky and Labrador images in our gallery are AI-generated awareness scenes. They do not establish that Animora Foundation rescued those dogs. Genuine case histories require approved records, dates and documented outcomes.
